Eng. Youngwook Yoo is a lead expert in WTIIRA/SWCC. He is specialized in energy equations and financial assessment for new technologies. In WTIIRA he is investigating possibilities to engage carbon neutral energy sources to desalination system in more reliable and feasible way. He is seeking opportunities to synchronize different renewable energy sources to supply consistent electricity to increase renewable penetration rate to desalination plant. Also, he is carrying out technoeconomic assessment for coupling desalination plant with SMR (Small Modular Reactor) as a carbon neutral energy source. He is also working heavily in carbon capture and utilization process, particularly his suggestion includes utilizing captured CO2 in desalination process to create value stream and complete circular economy in carbon capture process.
