Water security and sustainability are some of the most important and main concerns that are being examined and discussed internationally. It stands as a major challenge facing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, given the scarcity of water resources and the continuous population growth. This leads to an increasing and accelerating demand for water for all purposes. Additionally, economic growth, the improvement of quality of life, and the accomplishment of life quality programs contribute to the growing demand for water resources and the necessity to fulfill it despite the limited resources.
Given the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture Deputy-Ministry of Water’s role in conducting studies, managing research, and setting up strategies to resolve such challenges, the Saudi Water Forum was adopted. Raise awareness on the importance of water security and sustainability.
Deepening awareness of the importance of water conservation and moving towards sustainable solutions in its management, Educating the public about the necessity of preserving water resources
Strengthening cooperation and partnerships between sectors to achieve sustainable water development
Strengthening cooperation between governmental, private, academic and civil society sectors to exchange knowledge and experiences and develop joint programs and projects for effective water management.

Strengthening integrated water planning and management strategies
