Water security and sustainability are some of the most important and main concerns that are being examined and discussed internationally. It stands as a major challenge facing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, given the scarcity of water resources and the continuous population growth. This leads to an increasing and accelerating demand for water for all purposes. Additionally, economic growth, the improvement of quality of life, and the accomplishment of life quality programs contribute to the growing demand for water resources and the necessity to fulfill it despite the limited resources.

Given the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture Deputy-Ministry of Water’s role in conducting studies, managing research, and setting up strategies to resolve such challenges, the Saudi Water Forum was adopted. Following the achievements of the forum in previous editions and its recognition from the Saudi Council of Ministers, as well as high-level recognition from international entities.

Expanding on these achievements, the Ministry plans to organize the Saudi Water Forum 2024 as one of the most important events at the local, regional, and international levels. It aims to create a meeting platform between water-field leaders, experts, and all key stakeholders. The forum endeavors to gather developers, investors, scientists, and researchers in the water industry with the relevant official entities, represented by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA), Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC), National Water Company (NWC), Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) and the Saudi Irrigation Organization, Water Transmission and Technologies Co (WTTCO), Water Regulator (WR), and National Water Efficiency and Conservation Center (MAEE) to present their expertise and strategies towards regional and international trends to achieve integrated and comprehensive solutions for the problems and challenges facing the water sector.

Furthermore, it will showcase the best practices and successful experiences in developing water projects that align with the needs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and contribute to confronting the challenges. Additionally, the Saudi Water Forum will present investment opportunities to develop this vital sector and encourage private, local, and international sectors in its development.
