Dr. Margaret Jones Williams
"Dr. Margaret Jones Williams is UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Saudi Arabia, and has also served UNDP in Suriname, Guyana, Laos and Jamaica and has been with UNDP for over 15 years. Prior to joining UNDP, Dr. Jones Williams was a Director at Environmental Solutions Ltd., a private sector environmental management company specializing in environmental assessments for infrastructure projects including water and waste water treatment facilities, hydropower dams, housing solutions and roads and highways. Dr. Jones Williams is an experienced development and environment professional and has extensive and proven experience in policy preparation, advisory services, project management and implementation, project monitoring and evaluation, environmental impact assessments, strategic environmental assessments, construction monitoring, lecturing and teaching, and covering the technical areas of environmental management, parks and protected areas, climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction. Dr. Jones Williams has a Bachelors Degree in Natural Sciences with a major in Marine Biology and a minor in Chemistry; a Masters Degree in Coastal Zone Management with studies on the impact of oil pollution on the coastal zone; and a PhD in Biological Oceanography and Environmental Management from the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom where she studied as a Commonwealth Scholar."
